Punjab National Bank (PNB): complaint, nodal officer and fraud contacts

Where to report a fraud and how to take a complaint up the ladder with PNB, using only the contacts PNB publishes on its own website, in the order to use them. IFSC Bank Guide is independent and not linked to PNB.

If money has just left your account

Do these now, in this order:

  1. Call 1930, the national cyber crime helpline, or report at cybercrime.gov.in.
  2. Call PNB customer care, 1800 1800, 1800 2021, and ask for your account, cards and UPI to be blocked.
  3. The same day, complain in writing at the first level of the ladder below, and keep the complaint number you are given.

Speed matters. If the fraud came from a breach elsewhere in the system, not from you sharing a PIN or OTP, reporting it within three working days of the bank’s alert keeps your liability at zero for transactions up to 31 December 2026. For transactions from 1 January 2027, the window is five calendar days from the fraud. What the RBI rules say.

PNB’s complaint ladder

Go up a level only if the one before it has not solved the problem, and quote your earlier complaint number each time. These are the contacts PNB gives on its own website:

  1. Level 1 · Customer care

Your first written complaint goes here.

    Email: care@pnb.bank.in

    Phone: 1800 1800, 1800 2021

  2. Level 3 · Principal Nodal Officer

The senior official for complaints. Write here if lower levels haven't resolved it, quoting your earlier complaint number.

    Email: pno@pnb.bank.in

    Phone: 0124-4126244

Address: Punjab National Bank, Customer Care Centre, Plot No. 5, Institutional Area, Sector-32, Gurugram (Haryana) 122001

  3. RBI Ombudsman

If PNB does not reply within 30 days, or you are not satisfied with the reply, complain at cms.rbi.org.in or call 14448 for guidance. File within 90 days of the bank’s last reply, or of the 30 days running out. It costs nothing.

The PNB pages we checked do not give a separate grievance redressal officer. We show only what the bank publishes; if you need one, ask customer care for it in writing.

PNB IFSC codes

Every PNB branch code has 11 characters: PUNB, then 0, then six characters for the branch, like PUNB0XXXXXX. If a code someone sends you does not start with PUNB, it is not a PNB branch.

These banks are now part of PNB. Their old codes no longer work, so ask your branch for the current code or look it up above:

  • Oriental Bank of Commerce (ORBC): merged on 1 April 2020; old codes stopped working from 1 April 2021.
  • United Bank of India (UTBI): merged on 1 April 2020; old codes stopped working from 1 April 2021.

More in our guide to bank mergers and old IFSC codes.

Is it really PNB?

PNB’s website is pnb.bank.in. The email addresses on this page end in @pnb.bank.in.

  • No bank asks for your OTP, PIN, CVV or password, by phone, SMS, email or WhatsApp.
  • A “PNB officer” writing from Gmail or another free email address is not PNB.
  • Check any number or link you are sent against this page or pnb.bank.in before you call or click.
  • Beware the second scam: no bank, police force or “recovery agent” charges a fee to get your money back.

Where this comes from

Every contact on this page was copied from PNB’s own website and checked on 3 November 2026. To check one yourself, open the page and search for the address (Ctrl+F, or “Find in page” on a phone). Officers move and addresses change; if one bounces, tell us through the contact page and we will correct it.

This page is general information, not legal advice. Contacts change: if PNB’s website shows something different, follow PNB’s website.
